Ofsted Registration Application Stages and Procedures
Registering with Ofsted is done through three stages. Ofsted normally recommends everything is in place before submitting your application to prevent delays.
First StageThis is when the application is accepted. Your application to Ofsted is only achieved when form SC1 is submitted along with all completed form SC2’s. Upon submission of all SC2 forms the status of your application changes to under-review. Ofsted will also issue their invoice at this time. Nothing happens further without paying this fee.
Stage TwoThis is when Ofsted will carry out further checks particularly regarding DBS checks, GP health assessment and with your local authority. Ofsted will seek reference requests at this time. It is important to chase your referees to avoid delaying the application. Ofsted may request further information based on the feedback they would have got from their checks.
Stage ThreeWill take place when Ofsted have received all the information they require. This is when the fit-ness interview takes place. This is your opportunities to demonstrate how you will meet all regulations and manage the service safely and effectively.
